Six songs about accepting that everything ends — and choosing to live fully anyway.

It All Burns Down Someday — 72 Rats album art

Who this is

72 Rats is me, Graham Bremner. I've been writing songs for about a decade and releasing them for a couple of years. Talking Heads, R.E.M., Joy Division, The Replacements, Sonic Youth — all pulled in from different directions to make something a little different.

72 Rats bring punk-inspired attitude and post-punk tension to it all burns down someday, an album shaped by lively performances and a broad approach to guitar-driven indie rock.— The Bandcamp Diaries
When pop music doesn't have the balls you want as the soundtrack to your day and rock music feels a bit too impenetrable or imposing, you need something with a foot in each camp. You need something like the new EP (mini-album?) from 72 Rats.— Dancing About Architecture
This new record feels immediate and adventurous at once, balancing driving rock energy against atmospheric passages and arrangements that reward repeat listens. The reference points are easy to hear, with the nervy intelligence, the jangling melancholy and the shadowed tension of legendary acts all echoing through the material. Still, 72 Rats never sound like a tribute act. The punk-inspired attitude is theirs, as is the live, spontaneous feel that keeps the performances sounding like people in a room rather than files in a computer.— JamSphere

Experimental and noisy work outside of 72 Rats — ambient pieces, old 4-track noise, a playground for whatever comes up.

"A full complement of 72 Rats would equal about one human in terms of water reclamation," says Layne Carter, a water-processing specialist at the MSFC.
